What Does It Mean to Fluidly Bloom?

To us, fluid bloom means embracing the ever-changing, seasonal and expansive nature of BPF’s existence – calling on the transformative energy of the water element, and the flowering of the earth in its season of renewal.

This month, as we mobilize resources to sustain our work, we understand that our fluidity is a strength, a way of adapting and thriving in the face of challenges. It is also about moving with grace through transformation, embracing the complexity of this spiritual and political moment, and finding strength in our interconnectedness with all beings.

BPF is not your typical dharma organization. We are multi-lineage and unapologetically justice-oriented, standing firmly against oppression and for the liberation of all beings. Our commitment to justice has led us to take bold stances, like supporting a full arms embargo and refusing to accept funds from donors who support genocide. This is why we need your support now more than ever.

Your monthly gift will enable us to continue speaking up and holding spaces for peace and justice.

We want to expand our online practice offerings, return to hosting in-person retreats, and strengthen the network of spiritual activists that is already here.

Every contribution, every word, prayer, and commitment fortifies  us and resources a national network of passionate practitioners, rooted in the rich lineages of Engaged Buddhism.  Please click here to donate to BPF today.

Radical Dana: Buddhist Wisdom for Mobilizing Resources + Fundraiser on September 8th!

Join us for an inspiring online gathering, "Radical Dana: Buddhist Wisdom for Mobilizing Resources." We’ll explore how the Buddhist practice of Dana, or open-hearted giving, can be a radical act of resource mobilization in our movements for collective liberation, at BPF and beyond..

Board members Rahil Rojiani and Jacoby Ballard will guide us through an exploration of how Dana underpins, fosters, and supports our shared vision of a liberated and interconnected future.  We’ll also hear from BPF co-directors Daní and Kate with campaign insights and a fall programming preview.

This event is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and mobilize resources in ways that honor our shared values of generosity, interbeing, and liberation. This event also marks the culmination of our In Fluid Bloom fundraising drive—a time to celebrate and to invite you to engage in the practice of radical Dana with us.

Let’s gather in the spirit of generosity and collective care, and together, bloom in fluidity.

Refuge Circle begins again on September 9th!

Q: How do we hold in our awareness all of the people and places who need our awareness and action, in the midst of multiple, acute political and climate crises?

A: Together. Together. Together.

Refuge Circle is a multi-lineage, spiritual-political space for us to ground in contemplative practice, with community, especially in times of grief, loss, and rage at ongoing harm from systems of oppression.

It’s a space to share resources to support the freedom of all beings, and deepen our commitment to practicing peace and interrupting harm.

We invite all who would feel nourished by this space to join us Monday through Thursday at 9am PT/ 12pm ET.

20 minute practice guided by politicized teachers and healers, Buddhist and dharmically aligned.

10 minutes of collective action, calling or emailing our representatives

We continue to center our practice in support of a liberated Palestine, and call on our US representatives to enact an arms embargo on the state of Israel. In addition, we extend our awareness and action in solidarity with the people of Haiti, Myanmar, Sudan, Tigray, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the US, and beyond, with the understanding that our struggles are inherently interconnected, and so is our freedom.
